Crystal Carr and Producer Ali The Greatest

Based out of the beautiful city of Los Angles, CA  Crystal Carr is a resilient and ambitious  young boss with a hunger for success. She has a mission to bring a reinvented and innovative outlook on the artist development experience. Crystal explained to us;

“I’ve always been ambitious and driven. Anyone that knows me can vouch for that. Having an ambitious mindset and understanding the anointing God has over my life is really what ordered my steps. Through everything, I’ve remained resilient and bypassed many obstacles. I’m human and afraid to fail. I don’t have any role models. I have always found myself looking up to Future me and not wanting to let Future me down, because I have to look her in the eye every day and live with the results of my decisions and with her in mind, I’ve continued to prosper and grow in the now CEO/Founder of Diamond Development VIP/DDV Ent. Productions.”

What makes Diamond Development VIP different from other companies within her industry is that they don’t offer a quick package full of promises that they won’t deliver on. They actually care about the full development of the artists and work to impact the artist career into success.

“Knowing that the industry has this stigma of “either you have it or you don’t” leaves question for those that have that “it” factor but need it brought out of them, those that don’t have the right connections, mentors or someone to give them the proper know how didn’t sit well with me. It’s like “No Artist Left Behind” No one is taking the time to develop artist and I do mean REALLY develop artist into marketable, management, valuable brands. Which as a result is producing a filter of artist that are diluting the industry. There are a few artist that have been broken into the industry currently and still need development, being dropped from labels left and right because they’re not meeting standards. With that opinion, being business savvy, paired with my passion for music I knew that if I wanted to see change I had to be the change. ”

Crystal Carr and Ocho Hendrix

Crystal Carr has worked with artists from labels such as Atlantic, Roc Nation, and a few other artists on rise such as Ocho Hendrix, Tony Hallowz, Rozen, Powers, Dee Murray, DMan, NY, Abbie Ward, Raye, and Yung Incredible. Interestingly, her inspiration to start this company came from being annoyed by what was being played on the radio;

“I was driving home from work one day headed to my brother Corey’s house, and was listening to a song on the radio and as I’m listening to it, for some odd reason, it did not sit well with me and I got uncomfortable and agitated. As soon as I got to my brother’s house I said “I’m about to start a business” and as I sat there we came up with and brainstormed what is now Diamond Development VIP and has since been coupled with DDV Ent Productions. I often say I was one song away from creating a business.”

Starting a business in a male dominated field is a challenge Crystal has faced, but her resilience has not allowed that to be her ceiling. In this journey she has faced adversity from Manu different directions such as sold dreams, being sexualized, treated as an inferior to her counterparts, and taken losses from even her own clients. But, she has also learned through this journey;

“I’ve always been an alpha female but being a businesswoman has taught me so much about myself. I’ve learned to put my feelings to the side and be more composed it has mainly taught me that sometimes you have to put yourself in a position to win. That’s when you see the anointed path set forth for you. I’ve learned that the key to my success is commitment.”

Within just 2 years the growth of Diamond Development VIP has been unequivocal.  Reaching milestones of closing deals and partnerships with major labels such as Roc Nation and Atlantic, offering health insurance, and life coach services to her clients to help keep their mental and physical health on check.  Crystal is a walking testimony that she did not come to play. Her advice to anybody interested in breaking into the entertainment industry is;

“You don’t need a co-sign or to work under someone else’s shadow to create a name for yourself. I used to think that getting into the entertainment business on any platform was by luck, you had to be the chosen one and that someone had to okay your existence. Now in a way that is true but for a while, I thought there was no way around that and in reality, you can REALLY do whatever it is you put your mind to and you can become anyone you want to be with hard work and dedication. When you really pay attention to success stories you see countless examples of that.”
